We may not have achieved permanent peace,
but we do not have a permanent peace conference.
Even peace may be purchased
at too high a price.
Peace is liberty in tranquility.
Peace cannot be kept by force.
It can only be achieved by understanding.
Better to live in peace than to begin a war and lie dead.
